It's Fairy Dust and she's "All Dressed Up"

Hi....I'm so glad you've stopped by, as today I'm sharing a card I made just cos I could lol.... To be honest it was an image I just had to have but I just hadn't had time to use it .... So I found time to indulge and had a ball, she was amazing fun to colour and I was really pleased with the final card !!!!
Which turns out to be a double win, as I noticed that one of my favourite digi company's "All Dressed Up" are doing a DT call and as the term starts in January, (and if I was lucky enough to be chosen), I now feel I have the time to commit to another team....

So why did I not use an ADU image I hear you cry!!! lol....Well I'm not entirely sure, but there a lots of beautiful entry's, most of them using an ADU image and so me being me I thought I'd just do what I do best and be a little different.....

So the image I've used is called "Fairy Dust" and is created by the amazingly talented Tamara at The Stamping Chef.

And here she is!!!!

And a closer look

Hi all and welcome to my little piece of craftiness......

So it's time to play again at "Through the Purple Haze" (TTPH) and this week the theme is Twine, Ribbon or Lace. The sponsor this week and sadly for the last time is the amazingly talented Tamara at "The Stamping Chef" who has decided to change slight direction and close her shop at the end of the year... These stamps are some of my personal favourites, I love things that are different and individual and these are, in such a talented and beautiful way..... If you have never been, please do pop over and grab a special stamp before it's too late....

Sooo, onto today's card... I have used the gorgeous "Checking Out" ....

and in this picture below, hopefully you can see all the gloss and sparkle... I used a clear wink of stella pen on the fluffy bits and the glass, a gold one above the eyes, ribbon, buckle, neck/wrist bands and shoe bows and a green one on the socks. A Card For Matt

Hi lovely people.... Hope you are all well today...!!

Today I'd like to share a card I was asked to make by my friend Polly. It was for her eldest son Matt, who after seeing a card I made earlier in the year for his brother had made it quite clear to his Mum that he expected an "Andrea made" card too lol. So when I saw this image by Mo Manning called "Paul Texting" I knew it was perfect as it shares an uncanny resemblance to Matt....

I made the card out of Kraft Card and mated my new papers onto Chocolate Card and the image, I coloured with Promarkers and edged all with Peeled Paint Distress Ink,  .... Most importantly Paula (affectionately known as Polly) was really happy with it and so was Matt....

Card Recipe

Auroa Wings-TTPH

Good morning lovely people.... I must apologise for my lack of blogging lately but I have been majorly busy making commission cards some of which I hope to share, and like most crafters  I'm trying to make Christmas cards and its just not happening ... One step forward, ninety five back lol and we seem to be racing towards November arggggghhhh scary or what?!?......Here endith today's mini rant .....

Now onto today's DT make for TTPH, the theme is Snowflakes/Stars. We're sponsored this week by Aurora Wings Who have some truly beautiful images to chose from.... I have used the stunning "Christmas Floral", it is so detailed and really did test my colouring skills, but it was such fun to colour....

I used my clear wink of Stella pen, (my best purchase in a long time, looks beautiful without the aftermath of the devils dust, which is the name for glitter in my house). I wanted to make this image the star of the show so to speak so I kept the design relatively simple...

I matted the holly paper onto red card stock and also made a frame for the picture out of the same card stock. I edged the frame with that wink of stella pen again and added a cream bow and snowflake to finish....

Card Recipe
Pro-Markers Burgundy, Berry, Red
Satin, Ivory, Blush
Holly, Pine
Pear Green, Moss, Olive, Heatwave

Xmas Hugs

Good morning all you lovely people.......

Firstly, I have a bit of house keeping.... I have decided to step down as a DT member from cute as a Button". Sadly there were several changes made from the original commitment I had agreed to and along with personal reasons, stepping down was the best thing.... I wish Francesca and the team luck and best wishes for the future.....

So on to today's card which is for this weeks challenge at TTPH..... This week  the challenge is  a "Shaped Card" and is sponsored by Stichy Bear's Digi Outlet...They kindly gave me an image to use and she is called Xmas Hugs....

I found and printed a Christmas tree template.... I then drew around it in pencil on to red card and cut it out, having taped inside the left side... I covered the front in paper and inked the edges with red ink. I coloured the image ad then cut her out and matted her on a green oval, edged with wink of stella clear pen..... I finished of with poinsettias  and gems from stash....

Tomboy Trouble....

Hi lovely people, so glad you could make it back again..... Time for another challenge at TTPH and today the theme is 'Anything Goes' and our sponsor is Kenny K.... I have used the very lovely "Tomboy Trouble" and I have to say she was great fun to colour, which made the card easy to come together... However I have a confession to make, I can't find my list of the promarkers I used, I'm really sorry not like me at all......

I matted and layered the spotty paper onto Kraft card, I edged all the paper and the images with "Tea Dye" ink....I cut the banner out in Kraft card and again in the blue paper and layered onto two of the banners and used a distressing tool on the floral paper...

Whoopsie Daisy CAS

Hi...So lovely of you to drop by.

I have two cards to share with you today...My first today is my DT card for TTPH (Through The Purple Haze) challenge blog. Please pop by and enter whilst looking at the other DT makes. We also have a facebook page, we'd love you to come and say hi...
I am both proud and fortunate to create with such a lovely, caring, team of ladies, though most have never met each other there is a sense of care, support and acceptance that is normally saved for that of long term friends.... So enough mushy stuff (don't worry it's very rare for me lol) and so on to this weeks card...

Our theme this week is CAS (clean and simple) and our sponsors are Whoopsidaisy Digis. Sadly she has to my knowledge no name but is from page 606...

I coloured her in various shades of pinks with my Promarkers and mounted the image onto white card and trimmed it. This was to make it sturdy enough to stitch around the edge which I did by hand... Apologies for the wonky stitches not my best.... Note to ones self, do not try and stitch a card when fighting the beginnings of a migraine.... I then mounted it on to a pre bought pink card and added a stamped sentiment and a silk rose from stash....

Card Recipe
Promarkers
Skin - Soft Peach, Oatmeal, Blush Cheeks - Blossom
Clothing - Antique Pink, Dusky Pink, Dusky Rose, Pale Pink
Tim Holz - Pokey Tool
Pink card, Thread and Rose from Stash

I've been inspired to the following challenges:

Have a lovely day and if you have time, pop by for my second post, my very first DT card for "Cute As A Button" later this morning...  as always, thanks for dropping by...

The Snow Queen - TTPH DT

Hi... So glad you dropped by, as there is a new challenge over at TTPH today and due to a few girls being on holiday, I got the chance to do a card with the ladies on team A.... It also means I got the opportunity to work on the stunning Snow Queen by Rick St Dennis who is our sponsor this week...

I love to be challenged and try new ideas and this project certainly ticked all of these boxes... This was quite a different card for me as I used a lot of embellishment around the image...

I coloured her in Promarkes, and cut her out with Spellbinders Labels Seventeen and then nested her on Dark blue card which had been diecut with Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight. I matted the paper onto the same blue card. Then I die cut a flowering Christmas Tree die by Memory Box and some snow flakes in thick white textured card. I cut the tree up to get flowery branches and using a glue pen dabbed randomly on the diecuts.I then used white glitter (my son George calls it "The Devils Dust") as when I've used it it seems to invade the house getting onto everything, randomly making an appearance for weeks after, even though I try to be so careful... I arranged the glittery embellishments around the image and finished off with some liquid peals and a double bow...

The Snow Queen

A Fairy For Polly

This is the second LOTV card make of mine this week and my first EVER fairy image, I know, I know, how did I manage that, honestly I have no idea!!! However to mark this occasion there is only one person I could possibly make this card for and that would be my good friend Paula affectionately known as Polly. Who bless her is one of my biggest card making fans and will hopefully love this as it was made totally with her in mind. Fairies, glitter and pastel colours all on one card, way out of my normal comfort zone... I am definitely my own worst critic but even I am pretty pleased with the finished card.... But most importantly, it will make the Fairy loving Polly smile...

So onto the card details....I coloured the Fairy's dress with just two colours Blubell and Orchid and blended them together. I did the same in the wings but replaced Orcid with Lilac, then added some stickles to the edge of the wings and her hem.  I matted and layered the papers onto pale blue card, using the same coloured card for throughout the layout. I decided to keep lay out clean with no major distressing ink, just a smidge around the tag sentiment....

Card Recipe

Promarkers
Fairy-Bluebell, Orchid lilac
Hair-Buttercup, Mustard, Raw Sienna
Socks-Mint Green, Soft Green
Skin-Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink
Ground-Khaki, Firewood
Leaves-Mint Green, Soft Green, Pear Green

Nestabilities-Circles Large and Circle Teardrops

Border-Memory Box  Pearl Lace Border
Ribbon, Gems and Flowers from Stash

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
I Love Promarkers - Ribbons

Wishing you a fantastic weekend..

Coffee Time

Hi...As always thank you for dropping by.. So George has returned from the States and normal teenager grunting has resumed, so all is well.
After suffering from crafter's block (I blame it on the heat) I found some inspiration from one of my favourite staples LOTV.... This was mainly due to fact they had a price promotion on, so in my humble opinion it would've been rude not to indulge... I treated myself to a few stamps and a few paper packs. I thought I showed excruciating restraint in buying so little lol....

So on to my first creation. I have wanted this stamp for ages, as I think it symbolises a lot of friendships that are nurtured over coffee (and maybe cake!!!) Or this that just me?...
As usual I coloured with Promarkers, mat and layered the papers. I then made holes using a pokey tool and sewed the edges using lilac embroidery thread fixed. I then fixed a ribbon onto the centre mat. I then attached the image which I die cut using  Nestabilities and then made and glued on a double bow thanks to a simple YouTube tutorial from Jak Heath....

Card for Stu

Hi... Sorry I haven't posted for a little while, life has been of madness proportions, the last week or so. After two years of planning, my youngest son George has flown to Florida with his school. Getting a 15 year organized and packed without screaming because every answer you receive consists of a shrug of the shoulders or a "Dunno" probably deserves a complete blog post of its own... Although secretly the house is way too quiet without him....
Then followed, my partner and best friend Stu's birthday, due to his disability Stu's memory is often a source of humor between us as he says he cant remember things, ( I think us females call it selective memory lol) and I spend my life repeating things. So when I saw this stamp from Bugaboo Digi Stamps, I knew it was perfect for his card....

So I kept it quite simple as I wanted the stamp to be center stage.. I cut four squares in contrasting papers and matted them onto black card then matted the digi stamp and positioned it with 3D strips...
